Where Lucy Met Mr Tumnus (with LED light)

Description

‘Where Lucy Met Mr Tumnus’ is an original 3D diorama based on a scene from the well-known children’s book Narnia.

I have used elements from a variety of quilting fabrics, sequins, silver and iridescent glitter, a model lamp post, and a magazine image of a castle to create a view of Narnia at night in the winter from the lamp post to the castle. I have suspended sequin stars with wire from the top of the scene and built up the layers of the scene using foamboard. The glitter and sequins, particularly the iridescent does not need direct light to shift and change colour. It is eye-catching at all times and creates a sense of magic.

I have also installed hobby craft LED lights, so that a castle window and the lamp post light up simultaneously. The lights are coin-battery operated, secured inside the scene, and is turned on and off by a button at the back of the frame.

I have used 2mm clear perspex instead of glass to ensure no breakage in transit.

Size: 32cm Wide x 44.5cm High x 4cm Deep
