Jack and the Beanstalk

Description

‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ is an original 3D diorama in a hand painted cream frame based on a scene from the well-known children’s story.

In these dioramas, I cut out a myriad of different tiny elements from quilting fabrics to create a magical forest scene and then glue them down in a collage like fashion onto 5mm foamboard. I layer the foamboard with 5mm spacers to create the illusion of depth. In this scene, I have cut out illustrations from a very old children’s book. I have also used 2mm clear acrylic perspex instead of glass, as it helps with the weight and circumvents potential breakage in transit.
