Description
In this category, I make one-off piece of art using magazine images of a house, cut out the exterior, and lay fabric underneath the cut out. I then build up a garden from a variety of magazine images to create a fantastical Alice-in-wonderland, or gingerbread house look. Double page spreads have a centre line, which I try to minimise a much as possible.
‘Cornelia’s House’ is a one-off blue and purple mixed media delight. I have cut away the roof and walls and glued some lovely blue fabrics underneath, added some full white flowers under the windows like window boxes, and built up an overblown garden full of greens, purples and blue. It even has a little garden path leading up into the garden. This piece does have a double page centre line which I have concealed as best a possible (I think it’s my best job yet!). It’s an imperfect, hand-made delight.
Paper and image size are the same: 26.5 x 32.5cm
It will fit behind a standard 20.5 x 29cm (A4) mount opening, but you will lose a bit of the proportion of the piece. I recommend getting a custom mount cut for this one.
Selling unframed.
