Description

‘Violet’s Home’ is an original watercolour painting from a reference photo of Violet Dent’s UK home.

For this painting I have used Kuretake watercolour, Unipin fineliner and white posca pen on Arches 300gsm watercolour paper.

Echoing Violet’s use of bold geometric patterns in solid colours with soft vintage florals, I have added a border taking inspiration from a vintage floral design Violet has used in the master bedroom.

This painting is framed in a hand-painted timber frame using Porter’s Paints clay-based paint in the colour ‘Agave’, a lovely soft blue-green similar to the background of the border. I have also painted the mount in a soft cream house paint in the colour Sago (1/4 strength), you can see the textured brustrokes on the mount (see pic) which gives it a lovely hand-made feel.

It comes with clear glass on the front and hanging hardware on the back.

Note: As this is an original piece of art, avoid hanging in direct sunlight to prevent excessive fading.
