This is Joy

Description

‘This is Joy’ is an original textile collage entirely made from leftover quilting fabric including the background. The posy of flowers in the blue vase was built up in layers with little floral elements from a number of different quilt fabrics. This piece is in a re-purposed frame, which has been hand-painted by me in a hand-tinted soft blue colour. I have also painted the mount in a pink based cream by Dulux, called ‘Sago 1/4’.

The result is a one-off, beautifully imperfect, but happy, gentle work of art.

A medium weight clear acrylic sheet protects the front instead of glass (which helps in shipping weight and handling), and hanging hardware is already installed on the back.
