‘The Flowers You Gave Me Last Night’ is an original mixed media piece and is part of a small series depicting the stages of a new romantic relationship through a bunch of flowers.

It follows the piece ‘Getting Together’ where I imagined two people coming together on a date symbolised with the gift of flowers. In ‘The Flowers You Gave Me Last Night’, I have imagined the morning after that night, and joy of seeing those flowers in a vase. I have used strong colours, bold patterns and golden starbursts with imitation gold leaf to convey intense emotions and hope for the future together. This piece does not even need direct sunlight in order for it to shine.

Acrylic, posca pen, metallic pen, imitation gold leaf, some collage elements.
