Summer Carnival

Description

‘Summer Carnival’ is an original watercolour painting based on a reference photo of summer flowers in a Bloomsbury type setting. It is rich in colour and pattern, symbolising all the joy and fun that only summer-time can bring.

In this piece I have used Kuretake watercolours, Faber Castell watercolour pencils, some posca pen and Unipin fineliner on 300gsm Arches cold press watercolour paper for the inner still life, and then continued the painting with a patchwork type pattern on the precut matt board. It is painted right up to the edges to allow for framing.

29.7 x 42cm (including the matt) (11.69 x 16.53 inches).
