One Month Later: (The Flowers and I Are Still Smiling)

mixed media collage

Description

‘One Month Later: (The Flowers and I Are Still Smiling’ is an original mixed media artwork on stretched canvas.

This piece is part of a series exploring the visual representation of emotions at the beginning of a romance expressed through semi abstract flowers. I have chosen bright colours to express the intensity of feeling, bold circular patterns for giddy excitement and the layering of the blooms with golden shimmery starbursts to represent the bursting sense of joyous emotion.

I have used acrylic paint, posca pen, Faber Castell Pitt Metallic gold pen, Lisilinka crystal gold watercolour, with a few painted collaged paper elements.

It is on a thin edge stretched canvas and is painted over the sides.

It measures 40.5 x 50.5cm and comes with a serrated bracket on the back ready for you to put a nail in the wall and enjoy it!

This piece has been lightly sealed with Winsor and Newton gloss varnish. It has retained the shimmer of the Lisilinka gold watercolour and prevents the gold particles from shedding excessively.

I recommend not displaying this piece in places exposed to extreme variations in temperature or humidity such as fireplaces or heaters, and away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.

All care is taken to ensure colours and textures (if any) are accurately reflected in photos, however displays do differ, so please be aware that there may be a difference between how an artwork appeared in your device and what it looks like in reality.
