Coming Together (II)

Description

‘Coming Together (II)’ is the right-hand side of an original mixed media diptych featuring a stylised bunch of flowers symbolising the joy and hope of a new relationship. In this piece I have imagined two people coming together through the gift of flowers. I have used strong, deep colours, bold patterns and golden starbursts in hand-cut gold foil transfers to convey intense emotions and hope for the future together. This piece does not even need direct sunlight in order for it to shine. The light just catches the gold foil beautifully.

I have used acrylic paint, posca pen, metallic pen, gold foil, and some collage elements. It is on thin edge stretched canvas, unframed, but painted on all edges, and has been sprayed with several coats of Winsor and Newton high gloss UV varnish, which adds to the shine and strengthens the vibrancy of the colours.

It comes with D rings and wire already attached and centre anchor brackets which connect ‘Coming Together (II)’ with ‘Coming Together (I)’, should you wish to purchase both to hang together. These anchor brackets can be unscrewed and removed if you wish.
