Description

‘A Very British Celebration’ is an original watercolour painting from a series of reference photos depicting a particular style of British interior design centred around a limited soft colour palette, a vintage floral and solid colours. I chose to add a Cath Kidston inspired floral for the border echoing the little floral sink curtain.

For this painting I have used Kuretake watercolour, Unipin fineliner and white posca pen on Arches 300gsm watercolour paper. The blue dot painted border has been collaged on, and it therefore slightly raised to the rest of the painting.

This piece is painted on the reverse of an experimental landscape watercolour (see pic). You can’t see anything of the image on the back from the front as Arches paper is so lovely and thick. However, because of this ‘defect’, it is at a heavily discounted price.

Painting size is 20.5 x 29cm (8.07 x 11.41 inches)

Paper size is 5mm larger on all sides: 25 x 29.5 cm (9.8 x 11.6 inches)
