Description

In this category, I make one-off piece of art using magazine images of a house, cut out the exterior, and lay fabric underneath the cut out. I then build up a garden from a variety of magazine images to create a fantastical Alice-in-wonderland, or gingerbread house look. Double page spreads have a centre line, which I try to minimise a much as possible.

‘The Queen of Hearts’ Croquet Lawn’ is a one-off mixed media collage glued onto 220gsm cartridge paper of an imagined a scene from Alice in Wonderland where Alice plays croquet with the Queen of Hearts. Using a picture in a magazine of a castle folly, I have cut away the walls and have glued a beautiful discontinued red-pink floral fabric underneath. I have then built up a garden using various magazine images to create a garden with colours that echo that fabric, and a manicured lawn. Couldn’t you just see Alice wandering along this path with the Queen? It’s quite fanciful.

Paper Size roughly 30 x 42cm (see pic where you can see the magazine page writing, and a small crease in the paper on the right hand side. When framing it best suits a standard mount opening 20.5 x 29cm (A4), which will cover the magazine writing on the bottom corner and most of the paper crease on the right hand side.

Selling unframed.
